Bendigo Bank Community Bank Kulin -

our community Arts Parthner

The Newdegate Machinery Field Days in collaboration with Bendigo Bank Community Bank Kulin each year provide an opportunity for community to be part of an arts focused competition, which showcases annually at the Newdegate Machinery Field Days event. After the success of previous years’ competitions, we are delighted to continue to nurture and grow this initiative, and thank our incredible Arts Partner - Bendigo Bank Community Bank Kulin for their long time generous support.

We have another amazing opportunity in store this year, and can’t wait to share the details with you soon.

Let’s look back on some of the incredible entries from our 2024 ‘Icons of the Wheatbelt’ Art Sculpture Competition…

  • 'Export' by Tom Hams

    FIRST PLACE

Export is a nod to the wheatbelt farmers who faced the depression and overcame an emu plague in 1932 to become the thriving farming communities we are today. A cold Emu Export after a hard day is pretty darned iconic too!

  • 'Mailbox Tractor' by Dean Rintol

    RUNNER-UP

Agriculture is the foundation of the Wheatbelt . The tractor is one of the most recognised icons of the region.

  • 'Biddy Hall' by Natalie Thompson

She is the only "Settler" Agricultural Hall in our region still standing.

  • 'Sack Trolley to Silos' by the Rintol Family

Not only does this piece celebrate the iconic Silo Art Trail dotted across the region but it also illustrates farming advances through the generations.

  • 'Under the Gum Trees' by Morris and Lesley Trimming

The wheel is from a HV McKay Sun seeder. A wagon tyre and sulky tyre in the form of gum leaves colour is from modern machinery.

  • '#KeepTheSheep' by Trey Westlake

    FIRST PLACE - YOUTH

"#KeepTheSheep" highlights the importance of sheep in the Wheatbelt, it represents the heart of farming and the strong communities that rely on them.

Thank you!
